Chicago 2016 Admits Lying to Public
As reported by Crain’s Chicago Business reporter, Greg Hinz:
Olympic chief admits errors, but promises full disclosure

The head of the city’s Olympics bid team Monday conceded that officials intentionally withheld news about a key shift in the city’s Olympics financing scheme so as not to risk landing the 2016 Games.
But, in a damage control press conference, Chicago 2016 Chairman and CEO Patrick Ryan said full details about the risk to tapayers will be presented to the City Council late this summer — and strongly suggested that aldermen would have to give their approval before any final contract is signed.
No Games has been warning the good people of Chicago, the media and our complacent civic watchdog organizations about this for months.
Everytime I read this stuff, I can’t help but feel that Daley is the equivalent of Mayor Quimby, and most of Chicago’s citizens are the ‘gullible fools’ of Springfield cheering on his idiotic decisions.
Here are some Quimby quotes that reminded me of Daley:
“”You are tampering with forces you can’t understand…we have major corporations sponsoring this event.”
“I admit I used the city treasury to fund the murder of my enemies, but as Gabbo would say, I’m a bad little boy.” (the cute quip at the end caused the citizenry to mindlessly cheer after that)
Yes, Chicago is on the map indeed…as the most corrupt city in America. Capone, Ryan, Blagojevich, Daley…the list doesn’t seem to end.
If the defense against cost overruns is going to be insurance policies, let’s do it right.Instead of paltry policies, have policies to cover overruns of 20 billion or even 50 billion. The hefty premiums could be covered by those that will most benefit from an Olympics,on budget or not. These include the construction industry, construction unions, the news media and the Democratic party.
