McClendon Says 2016 Wrong Priority

"I would rather see billions spent on eradicating crome than an elaborate athletic spectacle.

Olympic nonsense in the ghetto

Watch Garrard’s commentary on Olympics.

Mayor Daley should concentrate on gun violence before the Olympics. I would rather see billions spent on eradicating crime than an elaborate athletic spectacle.

In the IOC pamphlet, I peeped a section on Sports Marketing Surveys on public opinion in the four candidate cities. Madrid and Rio’s numbers seemed to be the best in the “support strongly” and “support” categories. Madrid is at 57.9% “strongly support,” Rio de Janiero is at 41.9% “strongly support,” Chicago is at 38.7% “strongly support,” and Tokyo was at 25.2% “strongly support.”

Based on these numbers, the citizens of Madrid want the Olympics most, and if they are able to fund it – let the Games (rain) reign – mainly, in Spain.

Chicago has its own terrorism to deal with before we can embrace the Olympics. Mayor Daley and Police Chief Weis still haven’t put together a plan to decrease the 400 – 500 murders per year. I would much rather see billions spent on that, than the Olympiad. Please give me your rationale on having the Games in Chicago. Frankly, I would prefer to travel to Madrid, have glass of wine near the Olympic Village, and chill in a romantic place free from homicides.

The federal government is supposed to fund Olympic security,so the Olympics will provide plenty of money to fight crime.
I hope that the people that fought so valiantly against the Olympics ,so that efforts could be spent on more important issues ,will continue to fight for progress on those issues regardless of what happens with the Olympics.
